As of Saturday, June 11th, 2011 the National Museum Volunteers’ will be introducing English guided tours of the National Museum Bangkok on Saturdays, in addition to its regular Wednesday and Thursday tours.
UPDATE: The Saturday tours are now only on request. More information on their website.
Until recently NMV guides provided free tours of the museum in four languages every Wednesday and Thursday in English, French, German and Japanese. They have now introduced an additional day – Saturdays – to enable the working community and weekend visitors to Bangkok to also benefit from the treasures of the museum.
Although their regular tours commence at 9.30 AM, Saturday tours will commence at 10 AM, providing ample time to arrive at the museum.
Just turn up at the box office with family and friends, the entrance fee is 200 baht but the guided tours are free of charge, given by a passionate group of expats who simply love what they do.

Thank you for publicizing our guided tours on your website, however we now only offer Saturday guided tours on request. Details are on our website. May I please ask you to update the information on your website and thank you again for your continued support of our work. Would you also be interested in receiving updates on lectures and excursions? Pls take a look at our upcoming events here: http://www.museumvolunteersbkk.net/html/coming_up.html, and let me know if I can add you to our mailing list. By the way we have also opened a branch in Pattaya to cater to the culture vultures of the area:)
With kind regards,
NMV Publicity Team
@Ines Ehrlich, I’m keen to pick up a copy of the DVD of the Talk listed here:
http://www.museumvolunteersbkk.net/html/500years.html
Where, or how can I do that please?
Also, is there a phone number I can call?
Thank you for your kind response
Hi Michael, Thanks for your interest in our 500 year symposium DVD. You can pick up a copy at the NMV library located at the National Museum Bangkok, it is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 10-3pm. Hope this helps.
That is perfect. Only question is, where is the NMV Library, and would the Ticket Booth people allow me in without having to buy a regular Museum ticket. I can get to the toilets (now under renoavtion), and to the Bookstore with no problems. Thanx
