For people travelling down to Cha-am and Hua Hin seaside resorts there are now a number of different tourist attractions that you can visit to break up your journey. They can even be used for half-day trips for people staying in this region. The latest to open is Camel Republic which is a cross-between a zoo and an amusement park. In addition there are shopping outlets and restaurants. The buildings are done in a Morocco style which gives visitors a feeling they are in Egypt or the Middle East.
The stars of the themed mall are of course the camels. But there are also giraffes, alpacas and birds such as flamingos. The amusement rides include an Eagle Zipline, Drop N Twist Tower, Flying Macaw, Sky Flower and Zero Gravity. The entrance fee is 120 Baht for Thais and foreign residents, and 200 Baht for foreign tourists. There is an additional fee for the rides. Most rides are 120 Baht each, but a couple of them are 240 Baht. Camel Republic is open 10am-6pm from Monday to Thursday, and 9am-7pm from Friday to Sunday.
Camel Republic is on Phetchakasem Road at KM187. It’s across the road from Santorini Amusement and Water Park. If you have been here already, please post your experiences in the comments below.
