A new night express train between Bangkok and Nong Khai was launched on 2nd December 2016. These trains are using the same Chinese made carriages that were unveiled last month on the Bangkok-Chiang Mai-Bangkok and Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani-Bangkok routes. Now the new carriages are being used on the Bangkok-Nong Khai-Bangkok and Bangkok-Hat Yai-Bangkok routes.
The new train has nine “Air-Conditioned Second Class Day & Night Coaches” (180 berths), one “Air-Conditioned Second Class Day & Night Coach with Handicap Facility” (18 normal berths + 2 special berths), one Air-Conditioned First Class Day & Night Coach” (12 berths), and one “Air-Conditioned Restaurant Car” (32 seats).
TIMETABLE: The overnight express train leaves Bangkok Station (Hua Lamphong) at 8 p.m. and arrives in Nong Khai at 6:45 a.m. It also stops in Khon Kaen at 4:17 a.m. and Udon Thani at 5:53 a.m. The return journey leaves Nong Khai at 7:10 p.m. and arrives in Bangkok at 6 a.m. the following morning.

2nd Class: 838 Baht (lower bunk), 748 Baht (upper bunk)
1st Class: 1,357 Baht (lower bunk), 1,157 Baht (upper bunk), and 1,857 Baht (room)
