New bus route between Nan and Luang Prabang launched on 9 November 2017

A new bus route between Nan and Luang Prabang in Lao People’s Democratic Republic will be officially opened on 9th November 2017. This follows the launch of two other international routes between Thailand and Luang Prabang. The other routes are Chiang Mai – Luang Prabang and Loei – Luang Prabang.

The route from Nan to Luang Prabang is 373km long and takes about eight hours and 30 minutes. The construction of the road on the Lao side is expected to be completed in about two years, which will mean that the bus will then take about four hours and 30 minutes. The fare is 660 baht and there is one trip per day. The bus leaves at 8:00am. Call the hotline 1490 for more information.
