Tourists flock to see Thai cherry blossoms in Loei

Over the weekend, tourists flocked to Loei province to see the cherry blossoms in Dan Sai district. Known among tourists as Thai Sakura Park, Phu Lom Lo Mountain (see map) was crowded with tourists from various parts of the country who came to see the beautiful cherry blossom trees. Tourist over the weekend generated 1.1 million baht in revenue for local businesses and residents. Half of the money came from transportation services, while the rest was from accommodation bookings and goods sold at local family-run shops. The popularity of Thai Sakura Park also aligns with the provincial tourism and sports agenda and the government’s civil-state policy to promote local tourism and agricultural zoning.
