Wat Rong Suea Ten, the “Blue Temple” in Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai is already famous for the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the Black House (Baan Dam). Now there is a new contender at Wat Rong Suea Ten (วัดร่องเสือเต้น) called simply The Blue Temple. The ordination hall was only completed two years ago and so it is still relatively unknown among tourists. The name of the temple, “Suea Ten” translates literally as “dancing tiger”. The temple’s artwork is similar and just as fantastic as what can be found at the White Temple. But at this one, it is not only free to enter, but you can also take pictures inside the ordination hall. If you have been already, please leave a comment below. This temple is definitely on my short list for the next time I am in the area.
