The Satun International Kite festival at Satun Airfield is being held to promote and preserve Thailand’s traditional kites as well as to strengthen the country’s foreign relations with other nations in Southeast Asia. This year it will be held from 22-26 February 2018. The festival will showcase many international kites, and there will be competitions in eight different categories, including Beauty, Creativity, High Flying, Nice Sounds, Marathon, native Kites, Giant and Student’s Kites. There will be over 100 teams from Thailand and 35 different countries participating in this annual event. Some of the countries include Germany, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines.
