This week at Central Plaza in Phitsanulok there is a motorcycle festival called Midway Bike Week. There will be exhibits of different kinds of motorcycles some of which are custom made and worth more than 1 million Baht. There will also be a display of vintage motorcycles that are more than 70 years old. The event takes place from now until 3rd December 2011. The annual long boat racing in Phitsanulok will be taking place this weekend, 17-18 September 2011, on the Nan River in front of Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Maha Worawihan Temple. Long boat racing takes place every year all over Thailand towards the end of the three month Buddhist Retreat. It is an ancient tradition that has taken place in Thailand for hundreds of years since the Ayutthaya period.
